SAMASTIPUR, June 15 -- In a crackdown on unauthorised travel in pantry cars, the Samastipur division of Indian Railways conducted a series of surprise inspections, resulting in the detection of 37 unauthorised passengers and the recovery of Rs.92,240 in penalties. On Saturday, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) of Samastipur, Ananya Smriti, carried out a surprise inspection of the pantry car in Train No. 12557 Sapt Kranti Express. During the inspection, 22 unauthorised individuals were found travelling without valid tickets. A total fine of Rs.18,480 was imposed and collected on the spot. All unauthorised passengers were deboarded at Narkatiaganj station.
