RJD workers burn effigy of party MP
PATNA, Nov. 20 -- The internal conflict within the RJD's first family after the party's poll drubbing continues to simmer with RJD workers on Wednesday burning the effigy of party's MP Sanjay Yadav and other leaders outside the party office to protest the poor show of the party in the recently concluded Bihar elections.
More importantly, estranged second daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, Rohini Acharya has once again hit out at those trolling her on and flaying her for her recent outburst against RJD leader Tejashwi and his close aides including Sanya Yadav.
In a post on X, Acharya said that " those people who want to do something in the name of Lalu Ji should stop pretending to show false sympathy and instead step forward to donate their kidneys to those millions-crores of poor people who are counting their last breaths in hospitals and need kidneys, and donate their kidneys in the name of Lalu Ji".
Besides, she also took potshots at trolls and some people who purportedly denounced her conduct as 'wrong' and questioned her stay at her maternal parents home by stating that "Those who have the courage to call a married daughter who donates a kidney to her father wrong should muster the guts to have an open debate with that daughter on an open platform".She also made an oblique attack on party's MP Sanjay , saying that ' those calling a daughter;s kidney dirty should first be the first to start the great act of donating kidneys to the needy, then the Haryanvi Mahapurush should do it....."
It may be noted, a few days back Acharya had stirred a controversy by putting a post on her X handle announcing that she had disowned her family and also had made allegations against her younger brother Tejashwi and his close aides, party MP Sanjay Yadav and one Rameej of compelling her to leave the family. She also had flayed her younger brother Tejashwi - who was steering the RJD's poll campaign - for not taking the responsibility of the party's drubbing in the recent polls.
However, RJD chief Lalu Prasad during a meeting of party's newly elected MLAs on Monday had taken a firm stand that his younger son- considered heir apparent of the RJD patriarch- would continue to lead the party. Lalu also had told the party senior leaders that he would deal with the 'feud' in the family, insiders said.
The RJD chief's bid to back his younger son despite dissenting voices rising within the party against the 36-year-old Yadav scion is indicative that the 77-year-old RJD patriarch is in no mood to curtail the former deputy chief minister's clout in the party. Party spokesperson Mritunjay Tiwary said the dissenting voices raised by Acharya were all 'internal matters of the RJD's first family'. "It is an internal matter of the family. It will be handled by the family," he said.
Meanwhile, reports said a section of RJD workers took a demonstration outside the RJD's state office and burnt the effigies of party MP Sanjay, considered close to Tejashwi and party's treasurer and MLC, Sunil Singh. Reports said the RJD workers raised slogans against the two senior RJD leaders accusing them of ignoring ordinary workers and misguiding RJD leader Tejashwi leading to the party's poor show in the election. The RJD won only 25 seats in this polls while the opposition Mahagathbandhan won 35 seats in total....
