PATNA, Oct. 20 -- Dissension surfaced within the opposition RJD over ticket distribution with many aspiring candidates and former MLAs expressing their annoyance over denial of tickets and alleging malpractices in ticket distribution. State president of RJD's women wing , Ritu Jaiswal on Sunday chose to voice her exasperation over the denial of ticket from the Parihar seat in Sitamarhi and announced she would file her papers as an Independent on October 20. "I will file my nomination from the Parihar seat on Monday," she said in a Facebook post. Jaiswal also made a post, alleging that former RJD state president Ram Chandra Purbe had 'betrayed' the party and even then, the party had rewarded Purbe by giving ticket to the senior RJD leader's daughter in-law from Parihar. "I had lost the Parihar seat in 2020 by a small margin because of the 'betrayal' of then RJD MLC Ram Chandra Purbe. For me, there is no question of contesting other than Parihar," she said. Jaiswal had also contested the last Lok Sabha seat from Sheohar seat from RJD ticket but lost. In another instance, there was high drama outside the residence of former CM Rabri Devi and RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Sunday when a party leader Madan Sah tore his kurta and cried inconsolably over the alleged denial of ticket to him. "I contested from Madhuban in East Champaran in 2020 but lost. I was expecting a ticket this time. But the party denied me ticket," Sah said, even as he alleged some party top leaders had indulged in malpractices in distribution of tickets . RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan said it was obvious in a big party... it was not possible to fulfill aspirations of all....
