rjd's jehanabad mp booked under arms act ahead of state elections
PATNA, Oct. 8 -- Senior RJD leader and MP from Jehanabad, Surendra Yadav, has been booked under the stringent Arms Act ahead of assembly elections, in what could be a major jolt to the main Opposition party in the state.
The FIR against Yadav was lodged at the Sherghati police station following a directive of Gaya DM Shashank Subhakar in connection with violation of the Arms Act. Police said that action was taken after the Gaya arms magistrate submitted a report to the SSP.
The FIR states that Surendra Yadav illegally possessed a total of five weapons under three licenses. Currently, four weapons are registered under his three licenses.
Additionally, he obtained one license each by changing his address from the Civil Lines police station and Sherghati police station areas in Gaya district, which the administration considers illegal.
According to the FIR, the three arms licenses were issued on the addresses of Civil Lines police station, Sherghati police station, and Delhi, respectively....
