RJD Jehanabad MP Surendra Yadav, six others acquitted in POCSO case
GAYA, May 17 -- A special court for Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act acquitted Jehanabad MP Surendra Yadav in a case of revealing the identity of a rape victim and her minor daughter.
A village doctor was returning home with his wife and daughter on a bike on June 14, 2018. Some miscreants gang raped his wife and molested the girl near Sondiha village under Konch police station limits.
Next day, police brought the victims to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital at Gaya for medical examination. Then Belaganj MLA (presently Jehanabad MP) Surendra Yadav reached the medical college with his associates and allegedly made the identity of the victims public in presence of media persons.
A case under POCSO Act was registered against seven persons including Yadav and his associates former MP Ramji Manjhi, Abha Lata, Saraswati Devi, Nizamuddin, Yashraj and Alok Mehta with Magadh Medical police station on the directions of then SSP Rajiv Kumar Mishra and police submitted charge sheet in the case, special public prosecutor Kaisar Sharfuddin said....
