River rafting to resume in Rishikesh from today
Haridwar, Sept. 27 -- After a three-month monsoon break, river rafting on the Ganga is set to resume from Saturday, marking the start of the new rafting season in Rishikesh and adjoining stretches.
Officials said rafting operations have been permitted from Shivpuri-Kaudiyala and Marine Drive up to Muni-ki-Reti and Lakshman Jhula, covering stretches across Tehri, Pauri, and Rishikesh.
A 30-member technical team comprising officials from the tourism, forest, irrigation, police, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and rafting experts conducted a recce ride on Wednesday to assess water levels, ecological conditions, and safety parameters.
