Rajasthan to establish dept for state diaspora
Jaipur, Nov. 20 -- The Rajasthan cabinet on Wednesday decided to create a separate department for the Rajasthanis who have migrated to different states or abroad while the cabinet also approved the Rajasthan Global Capacity Centre Policy (RGCC) 2025.
In a press conference after a meeting of the cabinet with chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the industry and sports minister, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, said, "In view of the welfare of the Prawasi Rajasthanis, the cabinet has approved to form a separate department- Department of Domestic and Overseas Rajasthani Affairs (DORA). During a Prawasi Rajasthani conclave on December 10, 2024, the chief minister had already declared it. This department will now work under the Rajasthani Prawasi Foundation."
Emphasising the need to build a better communication with the migrated Rajasthanis, Rathore stated, "This department will act as a single platform directly mediate between the state government and the migrated Rajasthanis. The Prawasi foundation had been working on this matter so far. But, they did not have sufficient officials to address the pile of responsibilities. DORA will complement those shortcomings and ensure better communication with the migrated Rajasthanis in future."
He further added that the DORA will strengthen the connection of the migrated ones to their roots. "Through this platform, the government will make all the schemes and other benefits of the state government available for the migrated Rajasthanis. Our folk artists will also get a global platform through this initiative," Rathore said.
Under the DORA, every district will also have a nodal officer to address any issue faced by the migrated Rajasthanis and their families, he said.
Aiming to take Rajasthan one more step forward to globalisation, the cabinet also approved the RGCC Policy 2025 on Wednesday....
