Rahul's shop will shut with NDA's Bihar triumph: Shah
PURNIA/KATIHAR/SUPAUL, Nov. 9 -- Union home minister Amit Shah addressed back-to-back election rallies in Purnea, Katihar and Supaul on Saturday and targeted the Opposition, leading with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying that Rahul's dukaan (shop) would be shut after the results of the Bihar elections as the NDA would sweep the polls by securing more than 160 seats.
He was apparently taking a dig at Gandhi who has been saying that he is opening a dukaan of love in times of hatred.
"Rahul Gandhi's 'dukaan' will be shut in Bihar as the INDIA bloc will be wiped out in the polls... NDA will form the government by securing 160 seats in the 243-member House," he said.
Shah alleged that Gandhi and RJD's Tejashwi Yadav were "hell-bent" on making Bihar's Seemanchal region a "den" of infiltrators, and asserted that the Centre will detect and identify every illegal immigrant, delete their names from electoral rolls and deport them.
"Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav are hell-bent on turning the Seemanchal region of Bihar into a den of infiltrators... We will detect and identify every illegal immigrant, delete their names from electoral rolls and deport them to their country," he added.
Addressing an election meeting at Purnia's Banmankhi on Saturday, promised that the NDA government would open five sugar mills in five year and one at Banmankhi where it was closed down during 1990s, leaving hundreds of its employees redundant prompting the sugarcane farmers of the areas to switch over to other crops.
Shah also accused the RJD-Congress combine of being anti- Lord Ram Temple at Ayodhya. "Modiji made it possible at Ayodhya and now we are going to build a grand temple of Goddess Sita in Bihar," he said.
Alleging Lalu-Rabri governments in Bihar for promoting Apharan (Kidnapping) and Firauti (Ransom) industries in Bihar, he said, "They put the fortune of the youth in jeopardy in Bihar." He appealed to the people to protect Bihar from any jungle raj in future.
"Your one mistake may push Bihar once again into a mess as it was 20 years ago," Shah said while citing the NDA's commitment to wipe out red terror from this land. Naxalism is finished completely and development has already replaced it. Accusing RJD chief Lalu Prasad and Congress party patron Sonia Gandhi of doing politics around their sons and families, Shah asserte, "Such people can hardly benefit Bihar." He claimed that no corruption charges have so far been levelled against the ruling NDA government. The second phase of voting will conclude on November 11....
