Rahul reiterates 'vote theft' charge as rally crosses 3 key districts
BETTIAH, Aug. 30 -- The INDIA bloc's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' led by leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi reached Siwan after passing through West Champaran and Gopalganj districts of Bihar on Friday, with leaders reiterating allegations of "vote theft" by the nexus of ruling BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI) through the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) .
At Bettiah, the headquarters of West Champaran district, the streets turned into a political spectacle marked by pomp and photo-ops.
Curious inhabitants gathered in their balconies and on the rooftops as Rahul Gandhi's cavalcade reached Hariwatika Chowk in the heart of Bettiah from Koriypatti in Chanpatia block on Friday morning, resuming its journey after Sitamarhi and East Champaran after 12th day of Yatra.

Horses trotted, followed by camels and elephants in the show of strength. And then the streets were taken over by the supporters holding banners, flags of the Congress and RJD as a stream of vehicles followed them, one of them carrying Rahul Gandi and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav, who reached Bettiah on 13th day of the ongoing Voters Adhikaar Yatra in the state, sending a ripple of excitement through the crowds.
Expectedly, Voter Adhikaar Yatra on its last leg triggered the political slugfests.
"The majestic presence of our leaders have left the masses simply spellbound and our adversaries flabbergasted by the kind of the response the yatra is receiving. The whole world has begun to perceive an air of change in Bihar and victory is a foregone conclusion," said Akhilesh Singh, Rajya Sabha member and former Congress state president said, adding soil of Bihar has exposed the BJP another attempt to steal votes.
However, Sanjay Jaiswal, BJP's four-time MP from Pashchim Champaran Lok Sabha seat countered and termed the Opposition issueless.
"Rahul Gandhi must have been pleased with the condition of roads across Bihar through which he is passing. He must have been happy with the pace of development in Bihar. Since they are issueless in Bihar, the opposition has taken recourse to concocted issue of vote theft. The people of Bihar will teach them a lesson in the coming elections," Jaiswal said....
