Pvt School bus driver shot at in Gaya Ji district
PATNA, Oct. 10 -- Two motorcycle-borne criminals shot the driver of a private school bus carrying 20 children after dragging him on the Vishanpur-Ramdohar main road in Gaya Ji district on Thursday morning, police said.
According to police, the incident took place under the jurisdiction of Bhadaur police station. At the time of the attack, the bus was on its way from Vishanpur village to a Raniganj-based private school.
The injured driver, identified as Rabindra Kumar (30), sustained two bullet wounds on his chest and was referred to Magadh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) in a critical condition.
Police said the victim had received a death threat a day earlier. The incident is suspected to be linked to a love affair.
A firearm and a bullet were recovered from the spot.
Eyewitnesses told police that the assailants intercepted the bus, dragged the driver out, and shot him twice. They first hurled abuses at him, snatched the keys, and forcibly pulled him out of the vehicle while using foul language. As one of the attackers was reloading the weapon, local residents rushed to the scene, prompting the duo to flee, leaving the firearm behind....
