Punia MP Pappu Yadav's posters missing from Oppn yatra as it enters Seemanchal
PURNIA, Aug. 23 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' is set to enter Seemanchal through Katihar, with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on his side on Saturday. But Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav's conspicuous absence from posters and hoardings tells somewhat a different political story.
While Pappu Yadav and his supporters are silent over Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav's hobnobbing, the RJD and Congress leaders are in no mood to pay any attention to the Purnia MP.
"Our leader (Pappu Yadav) has been sidelined from the ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' launched by Congress party, I must say, it will cost the party dearly," a close aide of Pappu Yadav told HT, declaring his leader 'the lone and undisputed leader not only in Seemanchal and Kosi but also in Bihar'.
"In Seemanchal, RJD has been left with no base especially after the demise of Md Taslimuddin and hence, Congress party must not play second fiddle politics in Seemanchal," he stated.
On the other hand, a senior RJD leader without disclosing his identity said, "This Yatra (Voter Adhikar Yatra) will expose the claim of local MP and people will come to know that in Bihar, Congress Party can't shun RJD and Tejashwi Yadav at the cost of Pappu Yadav."
He claimed, "The togetherness of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav will completely decimate Pappu Yadav's long-held political hegemony in Seemanchal and Kosi," declaring, "Tejashwi Yadav has now become a youth icon in Bihar and by negating this very fact, Pappu Yadav wants to play his own narrow and convenient politics."...
