PATNA, Sept. 24 -- A private bank employee was shot at by two bike-borne assailants in Bihar's Sitamarhi district on Tuesday noon, police said. Police further said that the incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Bairgania police station, and the victim was identified as Shrawan Kumar. Following the attack, he was rushed to a nearby primary health centre where doctors referred him to Sadar Hospital, where his condition was considered to be critical. According to the police, the attackers intercepted him at Pachtaki Ram village when Shrawan, an employee of Bandhan Bank, came from the opposite direction. After he collapsed, the attackers fled, presuming him to be dead. While fleeing, they also fired in the air, said eyewitnesses. "As the victim was still breathing, he was rushed to the Sadar Hospital. His condition is critical now," said Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sadar) Subodh Kumar Singh.
