Prevent return of Lalu's 'jungle raj': Yogi to voters

ARA/BUXAR, Oct. 30 -- Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the Bihar Assembly election was not about caste or religion but about preventing the return of "jungle raj" in the state, adding that the lawlessness during Lalu Prasad's rule had pushed Bihar back by centuries.
"Today, from the land of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, let us sound the conch of victory and oust the Grand Alliance. Let us hoist the flag of triumph for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Rakesh Ranjan Ojha," the UP CM said while addressing a mega election rally at Jhauwa High School ground in Shahpur Assembly constituency.
"The future of Bihar now lies in your hands. You have to decide whether to take the state back to jungle raj or move it forward among developed states," he said. Referring to the light rain in Shahpur, he added, "Lord Indra has blessed this land, which means that with the people's blessings and overwhelming support, no force can stop our victory. The people are fed up with the crises of the Lalu-Rabri regime and will not repeat the same mistake."
Praising Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Yogi Adityanath said his government had advanced the state's progress in several sectors. "The BJP government at the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi built the grand temple of Lord Ram in Ayodhya.
He further said that PM Modi provided free gas connections and stoves to the poor under the Ujjwala Yojana, and raised the slogan "Jai Shri Ram" amid loud cheers from the crowd.
Addressing the gathering, NDA candidate Rakesh Ranjan Ojha said he was receiving immense love and blessings from the people. Taking a dig at sitting MLA Rahul Tiwari, he alleged, "When people from Jawainiya were drowning in the Ganga, the MLA did nothing and didn't even raise his voice in the Assembly. If elected, I will raise the issues of the people and ensure development reaches every corner."
Earlier, on reaching Jhauwa, the UP CM was warmly welcomed by BJP workers. He also addressed another rally in Buxar in support of NDA candidates, including Buxar BJP nominee former IPS officer Anand Mishra....
