GAYA JI, Nov. 20 -- Dzongsar Monlam Chenmo, unique Buddhist collective prayers for World Peace, began at the Mahabodhi Temple, beneath the sacred Bodhi Tree, the hallowed site of Lord Buddha's Enlightenment and the spiritual heart of the Buddhist world. "The sacred prayer gathering, being held from November 18 to 28, under the guidance and blessings of Most Venerable Dzongsar Khyentse Jamyang Norbu Rinpoche, the Root Guru of this Monlam," Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) secretary Mahashweta Maharathi said. Monlam, meaning "The Path of Aspiration," is a profound tradition wherein the Sangha and devotees join in collective prayers for the welfare of all beings. Rooted in the Buddha's timeless teachings of compassion, wisdom, and universal responsibility, the Dzongsar Monlam Chenmo aspires to generate vast merit, dispel suffering, and cultivate harmony in the world.
