PATNA, Dec. 8 -- Polytechnic College, Gulzarbagh Patna's hostel superintendent Mithilesh Kumar was sent to jail on Sunday after the vigilance investigation bureau caught him red-handed late Saturday night taking a bribe of Rs.1.5 lakh at his college office under Alamganj police station in Patna City, a vigilance official said. One Sandeep Kumar Dubey of Kaimur district had lodged a complaint with the bureau in connection with bribe demand for passing the mess bill payments by the superintendent. The official said Sandeep alleged that the accused professor demanded Rs.1.5 lakh in exchange of clearing the bill in which he was pressured several times over phone. Later, Sandeep contacted the vigilance team and lodged a complaint against Mithilesh. Later, the vigilance team verified the allegation and found that the complaint was correct that the accused was demanding an illegal amount. The team trapped and arrested Mithilesh when Sandeep handed over Rs.1.5 lakh to him. After the arrest, the vigilance team interrogated Mithilesh to find out involvement of any other employee in demanding bribes.
