Political tourism, ploy to protect infiltrators: NDA on Oppn rally
PATNA, Aug. 18 -- The ruling NDA on Sunday took a dig at Rahul Gandhi's Voter Adhikar Yatra, calling this an effort of Opposition to save the infiltrators.
Addressing media persons on Sunday, Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary said, "Today a Yatra has started in Bihar. The matter of concern is that two thieves have come together. One has looted the country and the other has looted Bihar."
"It is completely a conspiracy to save the infiltrators. This Yatra is already a drama. Congress is showing Rahul Gandhi as a people's leader, but people's leader is Karpoori Thakur. Some people say Lalu ji brought social justice to Bihar, but Lalu Yadav is a symbol of corruption. The colour of the flag is trying to be changed and secondly, Rahul Gandhi is being projected as public leader and this is a joke for Bihar in itself... Rahul Gandhi's Yatra is completely to save the infiltrators... Lakhs of names were ousted from the voter list during SIR in 2003 and Rabri Devi was CM back then... Bihar is poor because of either Gandhi family or Lalu family, one of whom looted the country and the other looted Bihar," said Chaudhary.
Union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai also criticised the Yatra. "The leaders of the Grand Alliance, especially Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi, are conspiring to mislead the people of Bihar, but the people of Bihar are not going to fall into their trap now because they know the reality," said Rai.
Targetting former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad, Rai said fodder thieves were distributing fake certificates of vote theft. "I want to ask Lalu Yadav ji, who stole the fodder? Who did the uniform scam? Who stole the tar?," he asked.
Bihar Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Jaiswal termed the Yatra a 'punctured tire' that lacked public support. "The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav has already got a punctured tire. The Supreme Court itself is monitoring it. The people of India do not stand with those who do not trust the Supreme Court. Those who do not trust constitutional institutions... the people of Bihar know how the Election Commission will deliver justice to them" he said.
"Finding voters in villages and trying to unite them during SIR is more important than doing 'padyatra' on the road," commented MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy on 'Voter Adhikaar Yatra'.
The JD(U) called Rahul Gandhi's 16-day Yatra in Bihar as political tourism. "He has come on political tourism. But I want to tell him that this land is not for political tourism, but for development and progress. The development in Bihar under Nitish Kumar is so transparent that you will see your reflection even in marble. You will get the company of Lalu Prasad ji who is known for his anti-development stance. Bihar is based on the rule of law, and every person can roam here without fear," said JD(U) spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar....
