Police rescue J'khand workers kidnapped in TN
Ranchi, July 23 -- Jharkhand police in coordination with Tamil Nadu police rescued all the six Jamtara resident workers abducted for ransom in the southern state, police said on Tuesday.
The action was taken after state health minister and Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari informed police through an X message at 1.48pm and police rescued the workers at 4pm.
Police also arrested four of the seven accused involved in the crime.
"The Tamil Nadu Police contacted us. Based on our inputs, they rescued all six workers," Jamtara Superintendent of Police Rajukumar Mehta said.
A police official said all those abducted were from Narayanpur block of Jamtara.
"Six children from my assembly constituency Jamtara (Narayanpur Block) have been kidnapped in Tamil Nadu. The kidnappers are continuously demanding ransom. The scared families have already transferred Rs.30,000. Contact numbers, location, and transaction details have been shared. The lives of these innocent children are in grave danger. I request @mkstalin, @HemantSorenJMM, @CMOTamilnadu, @JharkhandCMO, @Chief_Secy_TN, @tnpoliceoffl, @JharkhandPolice, @dgpjh to please take immediate cognizance of this matter and ensure the safe release of all the children," the police official quoted the minister's X message reading.
A press statement issued by Jamtara police said, "Six kidnapped workers including Irfan Ansari, Zaheer Ansari, Arbaaz Ansari, Kismat Ansari, Irshad Ansari and Ulfat Ansari, all of Narayanpur Police Station area of Jamtara district were safely recovered. They have been kept safe in Attayampatti Police Station in Salem City of Tamil Nadu. Along with this, four of the seven kidnappers have been arrested."
"Those arrested are from different places of Komarapalayam. The list include Savithvel, a resident of Anna Nagar, Anangur, Dharun Kumar, a resident of 4/287, Anna Nagar, Naveen, a resident of Moddamangalam, and Sarath, a resident of Moddamangalam," the statement reads.
"Intensive investigation of the case is going on and joint action is being taken by Jharkhand Police for the arrest of the three absconding accused and for the return of all six workers from Tamil Nadu state to their home in Jamtara," the press statement further reads....
