PATNA, July 14 -- Patna police raided the house of city mayor Sita Sahu in search of her son Shishir Sahu, a BJP leader, at Maharajganj area under Alamganj police station in Patna City subdivision on Sunday. However, Shishir fled away before the police raid. Patna SSP, Kartikeya Sharma said the police raided the house to arrest Shishir Sahu as an FIR was lodged against him with Gandhi Maidan police station in connection with clashing with a ward councilor and obstruction in doing work. "He has four criminal cases against him so the police searched him to arrest but he could not nab." Police said that police are searching for Shishir Sahu, after he fled during a raid on Sunday. The raid took place at their residence in the Maharajganj area under Alamganj police station, triggering chaos when supporters gathered to protest the police action. A number of policemen from several police stations arrived at the mayor's house in the morning to arrest Shishir. However, his supporters blocked police vehicles and raised slogans against the police and created a scene. Meanwhile, the action followed an incident during a recent Patna Municipal Corporation meeting where Shishir allegedly clashed with a former mayor. A case was registered at Gandhi Maidan police station in this connection. It is also being raised as to how Shishir attended the meeting despite not being an elected member of the corporation. Police teams continue to search for Shishir at possible hideouts as the controversy deepens around his involvement in municipal affairs and the confrontation with officers during the raid....
