PATNA, Aug. 5 -- Even as Leader of Oppositon Tejashwi Yadav is yet to respond to the Election Commission's (EC) notice over suspicion of his possession of two Voter IDs -- Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) -- a police complaint has been filed against him at the Digha Police Station in Patna for the same reason. The complaint was submitted by an advocate, Rajiv Ranjan, who has requested that appropriate legal action be initiated. Digha SHO Santosh Kumar said that the matter is under investigation. The EC has asked the RJD leader to provide details of the EPIC that he had shared in his Saturday press conference where he had alleged that the said EPIC details when processed into the ECI website didn't show him as a voter in the draft rolls released after the first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) on August 1. The EC in its notice has said that the details of the EPIC shown by Tejashwi would be investigated. When Yadav claimed in his presser that his name was missing from the draft roll, officials had checked the records and found his name in the voter list. Yadav had raised concerns over his name missing from the electoral roll, questioning how he would contest the upcoming elections. Despite possessing a valid EPIC number, Yadav claimed that his name could not be traced in the voters' list, sparking allegations of irregularities in the electoral process. Following this, the Electoral Registration Officer in Patna on Sunday asked him to provide the details of the EPIC card he mentioned during his press conference so that the matter can be thoroughly investigated. On Monday, Union minister and senior BJP leader Giriraj Singh criticised both Tejashwi Yadav and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi for questioning the Election Commission of India amid the ongoing Special Intensive Revision exercise in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, accusing them of spreading "lies and confusion". The EC on Monday released a press release and claimed that since the Bihar draft voter list was published on August 1, no political party has approached it for inclusion or deletion of names of individuals from the document even as the claim period reached the fourth day. The draft roll will be available till September 1 for claims and objections under which parties and individuals can seek inclusion of eligible citizens left out and exclusion of those they believe are ineligible. The EC said between 3 PM on August 1 and 3 PM on August 4 (Monday), no booth-level agent appointed by parties has approached poll authorities in the claims and objections procedure....
