Police bust human trafficking racket
PATNA, June 28 -- Patna police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang involved in human trafficking and arrested five persons, including a woman, and recovered a kidnapped minor girl from Rajasthan.
The minor girl had gone missing from Danapur on June 16.
Patna SSP, K Sharma, said that the police swing to action soon after FIR was registered. "A special team was formed and on the basis of the investigation, observation of the CCTV footage and technical evidence, the kidnapped girl was recovered from Rajasthan," he said.
"The girl told the police that a woman from Ara had lured her in the name of giving a job and got her married to a man in Rajasthan. Her statement was also recorded before the court and as per the court order, she was handed over to the family. The raids are being conducted to arrest the accused involved in the incident," the SSP added.
The SSP said police were tipped off about a trafficking gang that had assembled at Ashirwad marriage hall in Dinara area of Rohtas. Soon a police team raided the hall and arrested four men and a woman involved in the racket.
"They used to sell the girls in Rajasthan and MP for about Rs.1.5 lakh. The arrested woman told police that a woman known to her, a resident of Ara, brought the kidnapped girl to her house. After three days, she was married to a person from Rajasthan at Ashirwad marriage hall in Dinara, Rohtas, and the woman received Rs.20,000. So far, 10 girls were trapped by the gang and the gang has been operating for the last six months," SSP said....
