PATNA, Nov. 27 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of Patna Zonal office has conducted search operations at nine locations across Ahmedabad, Surat, Gurgaon and New Delhi under PMLA, 2002 in a case related to a Patna-based contractor Rishu Ranjan Sinha alias Rishu Shree, official said on Wednesday. Rishu's firms work as contractors/subcontractors in various Bihar Government departments and have a nexus with various Government officials to facilitate tenders for illicit personal gains. During the search operations on Tuesday, cash of Rs.33 lakh, digital devices, diaries, and several incriminating documents have been found and seized. ED launched the investigation on the basis of FIR registered by Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Bihar against Rishu, suspended IAS officer Sanjeev Hans and others. ED's probe revealed that Rishu Shree acted as a middleman in transactions between government officials and contractors, while also facilitating financial dealings between companies on behalf of Sanjeev Hans. Rishu, a government contractor has floated numerous firms, serving as a mediator in deals between officials and contractors in various projects. Later, he took sub-contracting roles in th same projects. His firms work as contractors/sub-contractors in various state government's departments, such as water resources, health, public health engineering, urban development, Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO), education, building and construction, and rural works department. Rishu allegedly got government tenders rewarded in his favour with the complicity of various government officials. The raids were connected at the premises of his associates and travel agents connected to Rishu. In March this year, the ED seized Rs.11.64 crore in cash during such searches....
