PM to unveil Patna airport terminal
PATNA, May 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new terminal building of Patna's Jayaprakash Narayan International (JPNI) Airport on May 30, increasing its passenger handling capacity from 30 lakh to more than one crore annually, said Bihar's deputy chief minister Samrat Chaudhary, according to a press release issued by his office in Patna on Wednesday.
The PM will inaugurate or lay the foundation stone of many development schemes related to roads, electricity and airport during his visit later this month, said Chaudhary, who reviewed arrangements related to the PM's visit. Among the projects, the PM will lay the foundation stone of Patna to Sasaram in Bihar, Varanasi-Ranchi four-lane highway, a 600 MW power plant in Nabinagar and expansion of the Bihta airport by constructing a civil enclave there.
He said the PM's rally at Vikramganj in Rohtas district was expected to witness lakhs of people. The deputy CM said there was an air of excitement, especially among women, about the PM's first visit to Bihar after the commencement of Operation Sindoor, a military action against Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir on April 22 that claimed lives of 26 men - 25 of them tourists and 24 Hindus....
