PM Modi working for big businesses: Rahul Gandhi
Begusarai/Khagaria, Nov. 3 -- Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being "scared" of US President Donald Trump, further alleging that he was "controlled" by big businesses.
Addressing rallies in Begusarai and Khagaria constituencies in poll-bound Bihar, the Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition said, "Having a huge chest does not make you strong. Just look at Mahatma Gandhi, who had a frail build but took on the British, who were the superpowers of the time."
Gandhi claimed that PM Modi halted Operation Sindoor, India's direct military action against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, following a phone call from the US President. "Operation Sindoor happened, Donald Trump's phone comes, Modi ji, who says he has a 56-inch chest, gets scared as Donald Trump says to shut this Operation Sindoor, and within two days PM Modi stopped it," he said.
He further alleged that the PM was "controlled" by big businesses. "He is not just scared of Trump, but is also being remote-controlled by Ambani and Adani," he said.
Drawing a historic parallel, Gandhi lauded former PM Indira Gandhi's actions during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, saying she "did not back down" amid US threats. "Indira Gandhi did not back down; she said the US should do what they want, India will do what we want," he added.
Gandhi also reiterated the allegations of "vote chori (vote theft)" in recent elections, including the assembly polls in Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka. "In Bihar, the Mahagathbandhan is winning, but the BJP has a history of brazen election theft-in Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka. Even now, names are being deleted from voter lists, and massive manipulation is underway," he said. "Stay vigilant at your booths and protect your vote - this is your responsibility too. Remember, in democracy, your vote is your greatest weapon; it secures all your other rights."
The Congress leader exhorted electors to vote for the Opposition Grand Alliance, promising transformative education reforms. He pledged to establish a world-class university rivalling the ancient Nalanda, positioning Bihar as a global hub for students. "The day the INDIA bloc comes to power at the Centre, we will open such a university where students from across the world will come and take admission," he said....
