PM Modi likely to visit gaya ji, perform Hindu religious rituals
PATNA, Sept. 10 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar's Gaya Ji next week for Pind Daan during Pitri Paksha - the 16-day period in the Hindu calendar when Hindus pay homage to their ancestors, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.
BJP national general secretary Rituraj Sinha said that PM Modi will be in Gaya on his birthday (September 17). "...his coming to the sacred town of Gaya Ji on that day would mean a lot," said Sinha.
Officials said preparations were underway for the Pind Daan ceremony, and security was being enhanced for Modi's personal visit.
Pitri Paksh commenced this year on September 7 and will conclude on September 21. Around 1.5 million people visited Gaya for Pind Daan in 2024 to pray for their ancestors on the banks of the sacred Falgu River and at the Vishnupad Temple.
Modi has made a series of visits to poll-bound Bihar. He visited Gaya on August 22 and inaugurate development projects worth Rs.13,000 crore....
