PK to launch Bihar yatra to help women get Rs.2L
BETTIAH, Nov. 22 -- Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor on Friday announced another state-wide tour named Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra to help women avail of promised Rs.2 lakh that the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government pledged to them and even released an initial grant of Rs.10,000 seed money each to over 10 million women to help them establish their business start-ups.
Kishor said this while talking to the media at Mahatma Gandhi's Bhitiharwa Ashram in West Champaran district after ending his 24-hour maun vrat (a fast observed by maintaining silence). He also took potshots at the newly sworn-in state cabinet, saying that it is full of criminals and corrupt people.
Kishor accused the ruling NDA of purchasing votes and said that his party would launch "Bihar Navnirman Sankalp Yatra" from January 15 in the larger interest of women in the state. "By transferring Rs.10,000 into the account of over one crore women, the NDA has cheated the people of Bihar and throttled the democracy," said Kishor said, calling the pre-poll money transfer as an "unprecedented vote purchasing" in Independent India
Unfolding his party's proposed yatra set to start January 15, he said that he along with his party members would undertake a yatra of 1.18 wards....
