PK not to contest from Raghopur
PATNA, Oct. 15 -- Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) party founder Prashant Kishor will not contest election from Raghopur. This indicates he may not contest Bihar election, as another candidate has already been announced from his native Kargahar seat.
Confirming the candidature from Raghopur, JSP state chief Manoj Bharti Tuesday evening said that Chanchal Singh has been given the ticket.
"So far, Prashant Kishor's name does not figure in any list," Bharti said, without elaborating if there was still any chance of the JSP founder's name figuring on any other seat.
On October 11, Kishor had launched JSP's poll campaign from Raghopur, presently represented by Leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, sparking speculations that he could contest from there.
However, now Chanchal Singh has been given the ticket to contest from Raghopur, which has been represented twice by Lalu Prasad and thrice by former CM Rabri Devi, before Tejashwi took over to win from there both in 2015 and 2020.
Chanchal Singh is a local businessman from Raghopur and he was earlier also associated with JD-U. He was made the vice president of JSP's youth wing....
