PATNA, May 23 -- The Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited (BSPGCL) has sought approval from the Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) to incorporate certain amendments in the tender for the proposed 3x800 MW thermal power project at Pirpainti in Bhagalpur district, as per a press release issued by the Bihar State Power Holding Company on Thursday. The amendments have been proposed following suggestions by prospective bidders during the pre-bid meeting held under the tariff-based competitive bidding framework. With strong interest from potential investors, BSPGCL is actively pursuing regulatory approval to move the process forward, the release added. Bihar Cabinet has already approved the project, which is being seen as a major step towards strengthening Bihar's energy self-reliance, said the release.
