Karnal, Jan. 6 -- An Ambala resident has been arrested for allegedly leaking sensitive military data to Pakistan-based handlers, police said on Monday, in the latest in a string of spy arrests following Operation Sindoor.
The accused, identified as Sunil Kumar from Sabga village in Saha area, worked as a supervisor for a private contractor in the Ambala cantonment. Holding an official military admission card, Kumar had direct access to restricted zones housing army and air force units, police said.
Ambala SP Ajit Singh Shekhawat said that Kumar was "honey-trapped" on social media and remained in contact with a Pakistani module for eight months via Facebook and WhatsApp.
"Preliminary probe revealed that he shared details on troop movements and unit locations, but not some classified information," he said.
Following Kumar's arrest on Friday, he was sent to police remand for four days.
The accused is facing charges under section 152 (acts endangering sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.htc...
