Patna University prof elected vice-chief of noted commerce body
PATNA, Dec. 25 -- Prof Nagendra Kumar Jha, Professor of Commerce, Patna University was elected vice president of the Indian Commerce Association (ICA) at the 76th All India Commerce Conference organised at Garden City University, Bengaluru from December 19-22, 2025. He will have a tenure of three years.
The ICA is one of the oldest professional bodies in India, uniting a diverse group of management experts, economists, technologists, and business professionals.
It is a rare honour for Jha, as it is the first time anyone has been elected for the second time in succession as an office bearer of the ICA. He had recorded victory as the ICA joint Secretary at its 73rd All India Commerce Conference of ICA held at Aurangabad ,Maharashtra in 2022.
"It is a matter of great honour not just for me, but for Patna University and Bihar, as I am the first person from the North-East region of ICA to be elected continuously two times," said Jha, who has served in various capacities, including as Dean, principal, head of the department and registrar.
He said the main focus of the ICA would be to work for a self-reliant India by promoting digitalisation in commerce and management and strive for attaining Sustainable Development goals by 2030, which will ultimately make Developed India Mission 2047 successful....
