PATNA, April 1 -- Patna police are now in New Delhi for bringing the accused of sending hoax bomb threats to courts, government offices, and airports across the country. The Delhi police had arrested a man identified as Srinivas Louis, 47, who was arrested from his rented house under VV Puram police station of Mysuru district in Karnataka on Friday following a joint operation by the Delhi police and local police teams.
Patna SSP K Sharma said, "A Patna police team are now in New Delhi for interrogation of the arrested accused Srinivas Louis, 47. We will soon bring him to Patna on transit remand after completing formal formalities. At least 14 FIRs were lodged in Patna against Louis with various police stations in Patna," he added.
Police officers said that the accused Louis was arrested for allegedly sending more than 1,100 hoax bomb threats to school, high courts and government offices airports across the country. "The accused Louis was allegedly operating from a house in Brindavan Layout, second phase in Mysuru. He was involved in sending multiple threat emails within a short span, warning of explosions and causing widespread alarm," sources added.
A police officer said that Louis was traced on the basis of technical inputs and surveillance....
