PATNA, June 3 -- The new terminal building of Patna's Jayprakash Narayan International (JPNI) airport will become operational from Tuesday, as the old terminal will be closed from tonight, said a press release from the Information and Public Relations Department on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the new terminal building, built at a cost of over Rs.1200 crore (approximately) on May 29. The new terminal will begin functioning fully from Tuesday, as all flight operations will shift there, said the press release. Bihar's additional chief secretary of the cabinet department S Siddharth inspected the new terminal with airport officials on Monday. The old terminal will be completely closed and dismantled for the extension of the apron. The first Indigo flight will land at the new terminal at around 6:30am on Tuesday.
