Patna, Aug. 25 -- A Delhi court sent strongman Anant Singh to 48-hour transit remand of the Patna police on Saturday, a day after the Independent MLA from Mokama, on the run since the recovery of AK-47 and hand grenades from his ancestral house on August 17, surrendered before the court in the national capital.
Singh has been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, a stringent law that was afforded more teeth after its recent amendment.
The Patna police would produce Singh in a court at Barh on Monday.
The MLA's counsel had earlier told the Delhi court that he be brought to Patna in Delhi Police's custody,with his lawyer and two family members accompanying him, but the court turned down the plea.
