Patna Advocates protest murder of colleague
PATNA, July 15 -- Thousands of advocates of Patna and Patna City courts abstained from judicial work to protest the murder of their colleague Jitendra Mehta (50). Unidentified armed criminals had shot dead Patna civil court advocate Jitendra Mehta near Training College under Sultanganj police station on Sunday noon.
A delegation under president of Patna City Bar Association Sanjay Kumar Sinha met ASP, Patna City-1, A Jha and sought protection for advocates and immediate cracking of the murder case.
Sinha said, "The members of the Patna City Bar Association are deeply grieved by the murder of Mehta. An emergency meeting was held and we expressed condolence over the murder, deciding to abstain from judicial work," he added. He said the association delegation met the ASP and demanded the arrest and speedy trial of the criminals involved in the case....
