PATNA, May 14 -- Rich tributes were paid to senior BJP leader late Sushil Kumar Modi on his first death anniversary. He had served as Bihar's deputy chief minister for the longest period alongside chief minister Nitish Kumar and held the unique distinction of being a member of all four legislative houses - Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, and Vidhan Parishad. At a commemorative function, CM Nitish Kumar unveiled a plaque naming a park after the late leader. He also announced that a life-size statue of Sushil Kumar Modi would be installed in the park. The CM further declared that his death anniversary would be observed as a state function every year. At another event organised by the BJP, senior party leaders, including state unit president Dilip Jaiswal, Speaker Nand Kishor Yadav, and deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, spoke at length about Sushil Modi's contributions. They recalled his exceptional ability to identify dedicated and capable workers and support them throughout their journey. "He was a disciplined man who constantly worked on self-improvement through study. A storehouse of information, he had a prodigious memory and could identify party leaders and workers by name. He was also an avid learner," said one of the leaders. Among those present at the occasion were MPs Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Vivek Thakur, and Dharmsheela Gupta, BJP national organisation secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsania, ministers Mangal Pandey, Nitin Navin, Prem Kumar, Jeevesh Mishra, Sanjay Saraogi, and several others.
