PATNA, Aug. 30 -- Panic gripped Patna civil court on Friday after its registrar received a bomb threat through an e-mail on August 28, warning that four RDX-based IED blasts would be carried out inside the court complex at noon on August 29. Following the threat, the registrar issued a notice to the district bar association secretary, urging members of the bar to vacate the court campus immediately. The e-mail, sent by an unknown person, claimed that explosives had been planted in the judge's chambers and elsewhere in the premises, and also alleged the involvement of Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI. As the news spread, judges, advocates and litigants of Patna Civil Court, City Court, Juvenile Board, Danapur Court and others rushed out of the premises, which were soon turned into a police cantonment. A massive search operation was launched by the police along with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).
