Over Rs.20 lakh looted from two SBI ATMs
BETTIAH, Dec. 20 -- Criminals struck at two automated teller machines (ATMs) of State Bank of India (SBI) and walked away with cash of over Rs.23 lakh under separate police stations in West Champaran district on Thursday night, police said.
In one incident, the criminals stormed into an ATM kiosk at Gahari Chowk near Nautan in West Champaran and walked away with cash after cutting the machine using a gas cutter around 11pm on Thursday, police said.
Rajnishkant Priyadarshi, sub divisional police officer (SDPO), sadar - 2 said, "The exact amount looted is not known yet, though it is estimated to be over Rs.10 lakh."
In yet another incident, criminals walked away with cash to the tune of Rs.10.5 lakh by breaking ATM near Alok Bharti School under Town police station area in Bettiah on Thursday, police confirmed....
