PATNA, Dec. 7 -- In connection with the Odisha Staff Selection Commission's (OSSC) JE Recruitment Examination 2023 paper leak case, a team of the Odisha CID on Saturday arrested an accused from the Khanpur police station area in Samastipur district. The accused, identified as Rajmohan Prasad, had fled during an earlier police raid in the case and had been absconding since then. Several of his associates have already been arrested in the case, and the Odisha police had earlier recovered a car from the spot. The CID team reached Samastipur on Friday and, with the help of the local police, conducted searches. Police raided his hideout and arrested him. Rajmohan was produced before a court, which granted the CID a transit remand, following which he was taken to Odisha. Additional SP (CID) Vikas Ranjan Beura, who is leading the investigation, said that several students were mobilised in the Digha area along the Bengal border during the OSSC JE recruitment exam. Question papers were distributed to all of them. So far, police have arrested 27 people in the case, including six from Bihar. "Police have seized Rajmohan's vehicle from Odisha. He had direct links with other members of the paper leak gang, such as Vishal Kumar Chourasia and Vijendra Gupta. Gupta, who is Rajmohan's brother-in-law, is also involved in the NEET and BPSC TRE question paper leak cases," Beura said. Police said the gang had taken more than 80 candidates to a hotel in Digha in multiple vehicles and promised to provide them with the leaked question papers. According to the CID, Chourasia is highly educated. He cleared the Staff Selection Commission's (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination in 2012 and joined as a tax assistant in the Income Tax department at Durgapur in West Bengal, where he worked from mid-2014 to 2016. He again cleared the SSC CGL examination in 2013 and was selected for the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) services. He later left that post to join as a divisional accountant in the Accountant General's office in Patna in 2016....
