PATNA, June 11 -- Mahalakshmi Mehta, a retired nurse of Nalanda medical college and hospital (NMCH), who was shot dead at her house along with her daughter on Monday morning, had in July 2020 lodged a case against some anti-social elements for illegal activities around her house near Jarahi temple Arfabad colony under Alamganj police station. Mahalakshmi had lodged the FIR with Alamganj police station on July 5, 2020 against some local anti-social elements related to selling of liquor, assembling of anti-social elements near her house. She had said in the FIR that when she asked from anti-social elements for the cause of assembling in the locality, they had attacked her in which received injuries in her hand. She also expressed worry while coming to the house from the NMCH from the duty. She sought help from the local police, said a police officer. Twent-four hours after her killing, police, however, failed to make any breakthrough in this connection. Mahalakshmi's husband received bullet injuries after three unidentified criminals opened fire at Afrabad colony under Alamganj police station on Monday morning. The injured Dhanjay Mehta is getting treatment at the hospital. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avakash Kumar was on busy in a crime meeting with all officials of Patna when tried to contact for his comments. A special investigation was formed to crack the case. However, no breakthrough was made by the police....
