PATNA, May 26 -- Even after the passage of 24 hours on Sunday, Patna police failed to arrest those involved in the indiscriminate firing at busy Boring Road under SK Puri police station here in broad daylight on Saturday. However, the axe fell on six policemen as they were suspended for dereliction of duty. SSP, Patna Awakash Kumar has asked city SP (central) S Sweety to investigate the matter thoroughly and submit a detailed report. Soon after the incident, Patna police launched a massive vehicle checking drive in search of the criminals involved in the firing from Patna City to Danapur but still their hands are empty. The SSP said six police personnel were suspended in connection with the incident for dereliction of duty. "The suspended police men are sub-inspector Ashok Kumar Singh, assistant sub-inspector Manoj Kumar Rajak of Sachiwalaya police station, assistant sub-inspector Dhanjay Kumar of Kotwali police station, two women constables Jusy Kumari, Neerja Kumari and Rajeev Kumar, wireless operator posted at City SP (central). Police have identified the criminals and vehicles used in the firing. Raids are going on to arrest them." Unidentified armed criminals in a black SUV opened indiscriminate firing at Boring Road triggering panic in the busy locality. An ADG rank officer was passing through the area and attempted to chase the criminals who also fired at the police vehicle. In retaliation, the ADG's bodyguards fired two rounds at the miscreants but they managed to escape. The genesis of the incident is said to be a parking-related dispute at Boring Canal Road area....
