Nitish vows job to son, hosp, road, memorial for martyred BSF officer
PATNA, May 14 -- Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday visited martyred BSF sub-inspector Mohammad Imtiyaz's ancestral home in Saran district and announced that the road from Imtiyaz's village, Chintamanganj, to Rahampur Bazar area in the district will be named after him. Besides, the CM said, a hospital will be built in his memory and his younger will be given the government job. The CM also handed over a cheque of Rs.50 lakh to the family of the martyr.
Imtiyaz lost his life in the line of duty in the cross-border shelling by Pakistan at the RS Pura sector along the International Boundary.
The CM stayed at Imtiyaz's residence for some time and assured all possible help from the government to his family and the grief-hit village. He met both his sons -- Mohammad Imran Raza and Mohammad Imdad Raza. He along with his ministers and staff members paid homage to Imtiyaz by offering flowers to his photograph.
Before CM's visit, the one-and-half-km road leading to the house of the BSF jawan from the helipad was given a swift facelift.
"The state government stand with the family of BSF Sub-Inspector and all workable proposals made by the village or members of the family have been approved by the state government," said Bihar chief secretary Amrit Lal Meena.
Meena said that the government had fulfilled five demands of the family. Apart from a cheque of Rs.50-lakh, which included Rs.29-lakh from the CM Relief Fund, a memorial at the cremation site, naming of road after him and a job to one member of the family. He added that besides naming the 2-km road stretch after martyred BSF jawan, an entrance in the village of Jalal-Basant panchayat will construct a 'Shaheed Dwar' dedicated to Imtiyaz.
Before the CM, Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav also visited the village and met the family members of the BSF sub-inspector. "We are proud of Imtiyaz. He has proved that whenever the country needs sacrifices, Bihar remains in the forefront. We all are standing in solidarity with the family," he said....
