PATNA, Nov. 25 -- After vigorous campaigning during the election, which involved around 70 public meetings, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, into his fifth consecutive term, is on the go soon after taking oath for the 10th time. Even before the first cabiBihar plans to set updistt-level export unitsnet meeting of the new government, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Kumar has got down to business, inspecting projects, schemes and initiatives, with, what party leaders say, an eye on the next phase of development. Aware of the challenges for the new government to generate employment and boost industrialisation, on Monday he visited the Hajipur Industrial Area, a day after inspecting the newly-built duplex MLA flats with all modern facilities and the beautification of Patna's JP Gangapath. The MLA flats have been built in an integrated campus and it has been marked for legislators with constituency numbers to remove any room for controversy in allotment. On Monday, he was at Hajipur and inspected the shoe factory, which shot into prominence for manufacturing safety boots for the Russian army and fashion shoes for European markets and is in expansion mode. Besides, he also inspected the Britannia factory, fashion wear and other production units. All the units came up during his tenures. Starting in 2018 as a small startup blending state-of-the-art technology with craftsmanship, the company hit headlines after securing a prestigious contract to supply shoes directly to the Russian military due to its sheer quality. What is more, it has also generated employment locally to contribute to the state's pressing need -- a reason why Nitish chose to visit there first. "He visited the production units, interacted with the employees and officials and saw the production units. He was happy to see women constituting the majority of the workforce in the production line. He visited three factories," said Vaishali JD(U) MLA Siddharth Patel. Kumar, during his interaction with the workers and management, said that Bihar has entered a new phase of development and such industrial units would add wings to its endeavour. "The CM also assured all support to the industrial units to address any of their problems. He is committed to Bihar's development and has a clear vision regarding this. Under him, Bihar will take a development leap," JD(U) also tweeted from its official handle. During the election campaign, both PM Narendra Modi and Kumar had promised rapid industrialisation in Bihar. After the victory also, Modi, while addressing BJP workers, described the big mandate as a "vote for development, industrialisation and employment"....
