Nitish is CM today, and will remain so: DyCM
Patna, Nov. 11 -- With an aim to warding off any confusion in the minds of voters across 122 assembly segments going to polls on Tuesday, Bihar's deputy CM and BJP senior leader Samrat Choudhary once again reiterated that Nitish Kumar was the chief minister and would remain so.
Addressing media persons here on Monday, Choudhary said, "I am a political worker of the BJP. There is no vacancy here (in NDA). Nitish Kumar is the CM today and will remain so. Where is the confusion?"
The statement assumes significance following confusion in the minds of a section of EBC and OBC voters over the NDA's chief ministerial candidate.
Taking aim at the RJD, he said RJD appeared confused and diffused in Bihar. "The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is both confused and defused. The public knows that Lalu Prasad's family is known for looting, creating chaos, and corruption. These people are so afraid of losing elections that they are blaming the Election Commission or our esteemed PM Narendra Modi and respected home minister Amit Shah. It is clear that the RJD is not really in the fight, the Mahagathbandhan leaders are confused, and Rahul Gandhi has already started raising the slogan of theft," he said.
Chaudhary said the public had also decided that these people couldn't do anything for the public good; they could only work for themselves.
He said whether it was Rahul Gandhi or Lalu Yadav's family, they wanted to make a mockery of democracy. The public knew that they were corrupt and symbols of corruption. "If the NDA government is formed, we will go to court and request that schools and colleges be opened on the land seized in fodder scam, land for jobs, flood scam, and tar scam," the dy CM said.
The BJP has hailed the SC observation dismissing some allegations against deputy CM Samrat Choudhary.
"The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is extremely satisfied that the Supreme Court dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against Bihar deputy CM Samrat Choudhary on November 7, 2025," said BJP spokesperson Neeraj Kumar. "The decision not only reflects the integrity and commitment of our leader, but also dismantles all the political conspiracies being hatched by some vested interests," he added.
A PIL was filed in the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of his election from Tarapur Assembly constituency. The petition was filed by an alleged Hyderabad-based businessman making allegations regarding the age and educational qualifications of Choudhary.
Neeraj Kumar said the SC heard the case seriously and, in its disposal, made it clear that political issues should be kept out of court. The court forced the petitioner to withdraw the petition and did not allow him to challenge the case again in court....
