SASARAM, Sept. 26 -- The newly married wife of a police Sub-Inspector (SI) posted at Kargahar police station in Rohtas district allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in her government residence on Wednesday night, officials said. Station House Officer (SHO) Kamal Nayan Pandey said the SI was on Chief Minister's duty in Sasaram on Wednesday. When he returned to his quarters around 8 pm, he found the main door locked from inside. After repeated calls went unanswered, he informed his wife's father and the SHO. Police then broke open the door and found the woman hanging from a fan with a nylon rope. She was rushed to the Kargahar primary health centre after being brought down, but doctors declared her dead. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kumar Vaibhav inspected the scene and directed that the body be preserved until the deceased woman's family arrived.
