PATNA, Sept. 3 -- Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi took cognisance of the abuses hurled at his late mother form the platform of the Congress and the RJD and termed it an "insult of all the mothers and sisters of Bihar", the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) upped the ante and announced Bihar bandh on September 4. BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal said that the NDA Mahila Morcha has taken a decision to observe Bihar bandh on September 4 against the shameful act of the INDIA block and the cooperation of all constituents is requested to support the women's wing. "It will be from 7 am to 12 noon so that the masses don't get affected. We appeal to the people to support it. All emergency services, including railways and ambulance services, have been exempted from it. It is the women who have come forward to fight for the dignity of mothers and sisters of Bihar," he said. "Can anyone think of a political platform being used for abusing the PM's mother? It has shamed Bihar, but INDI Alliance leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Prasad have not even apologised," said Jaiswal. JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha said that the way PM and his late mother were abused by INDIA bloc leaders from public platforms was unacceptable in a democracy. LJP state chief Raju Tiwari said that it was the culture of INDIA bloc, as the same had happened with the mother of union minister Chirag Paswan in 2024. "It is their culture and they cannot do anything different from what was evident during jungle Raj. What has happened is highly objectionable," he added. HAM-S leader Anil Kumar said that the INDI alliance comprising RJD and Congress were showing their true colours as the election was approaching.
