NDA poll drive for 243 seats to begin today
PATNA, Aug. 23 -- In the pre-election run, ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies in Bihar would start electioneering by holding meetings and small rallies from August 23 in all 243 state assembly constituencies with an objective to highlight the works done by the NDA government both in Bihar and at the Centre in the last many years.
People aware of the NDA campaign roadmap said that 14 committees have been formed for the public meetings in 243 assembly segments in the state, which would be attended by top leaders of all five allies of the NDA in Bihar comprising Bharatiya Janata Party( BJP), Janata Dal (United), Hindustani Awaam Morcha (Secular), Rashtriya Lok Manch and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
Party functionaries said that the election meetings would primarily highlight the development works done by chief minister Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in the last 20 years, including the push in infrastructure, healthcare initiatives, initiatives in education and progress in other sectors.
The development works done by the NDA government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in last 11 years, including measures taken for development of Bihar, would also be highlighted during the meetings.
"Two teams of top leaders would be responsible for each division. There would be election meetings and small rallies as part of an extensive outreach with voters by leaders of all NDA constituents in two assembly constituencies each day in the next one month. It is essentially a pre-election campaign to highlight the major development works done by the NDA governments in the state and at the Centre," said Prem Ranjan Patel, state spokesperson of the BJP....
