MP Pappu Yadav booked for poll code violation in vaishali distt
PATNA, Oct. 11 -- Vaishali administration registered an FIR for violation of the election code of conduct against Purnia MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav. The action was taken against the Independent MP on the allegation of distributing financial assistance to the families of flood victims at Ganiyari village of Sahadei block. He had visited the village on Thursday and met with the victims as well as villagers. During his visit, Yadav reportedly provided financial help ranging from Rs.2,000 to Rs.3,000 to the people. It was clearly caught on camera that money was being given to people as per a list prepared by locals.
During his act, he also targeted local MP and Union minister Chirag Paswan and Union minister Nityanand Rai. The MP also called the Vaishali DM, but his call was not answered.

When asked about the violation of the model code of conduct, Yadav said he did not care about the code of conduct.
"There is no one to look after those who have become homeless. With the money I gave, they can at least buy a tarpaulin to survive for a few more days, " he said, adding, he would continue to help the poor, regardless of what anyone else wanted to do.
However, SDO Mahnar Neeraj Kumar Sinha said the code of conduct was in effect in Bihar, yet a dignitary distributed funds. Following this, a case was registered. "The case was registered against the MP with Sahdei police station on the basis of a statement by an official engaged in poll duty as well as CCTV footage of money distribution," said Vaishali SP Lalit Mohan Sharma,...
