PATNA, Sept. 16 -- The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will launch a mobile number validation (MNV) service from December, senior telecom officers said in Patna on Monday. The MNV is a centralised, real-time validation system that will allow authorised entities such as telecom operators, banks, payment services to verify if a mobile number is authentic, active and registered with a licensed service provider.
