PATNA, July 2 -- People of Patna will get more flying options to Ahmedabad and Ghaziabad, with the SpiceJet and the IndiGo launching a flight each between the two destinations from July 7 and July 20 respectively, said operators on Monday. While SpiceJet is resuming from July 7 its flight (SG 717/718) between Ahmedabad and Patna thrice a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the IndiGo is starting a new flight (6E 2573/2553) between Ghaziabad and Patna on a daily basis from July 20. Darbhanga will also get a new flight connection to Mumbai, with Akansa Air adding a new flight (QP 1529/1530) between the two destinations from July 1, said Kumud Ranjan of Mamata Travels. The SpiceJet flight will leave Ahmedabad at 5:30 am and reach Patna at 7.40 am. On its return, the flight will leave Patna at 8.15 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10.30 am. This flight will operate only thrice a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). IndiGo already operates a flight 6E 921 on this sector that leaves Ahmedabad at 10.55 am and reaches Patna at 1.50 pm. The IndiGo flight (6E 2573/2553) between Patna and Ghaziabad will leave Patna at 10am and reach Ghaziabad at 11.40 am. It has a scheduled departure of 12.30 pm from Ghaziabad and is slated to arrive at Patna at 2.10 pm, said Ranjan. The Air India Express has been operating a flight between Patna and Ghaziabad since May. With this, Patnaites will now have two flying options to Ghaziabad. Similarly, Akasa Air on Tuesday introduced a new daily flight (QP1529/1530) between Darbhanga and Mumbai. The flight leaves Darbhanga at 2.10 pm and reaches Mumbai at 4.45 pm, as per the schedule shared by the airlines with its travel agents. Meanwhile, Air India Express and IndiGo curtailed a flight each between Patna and Kolkata from Tuesday. With the introduction of the two flights, there will now be 13 flights from Patna to Delhi, five to Bengaluru, four to Hyderabad, three to Mumbai, two each to Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Hindon, and one each to Ranchi, Lucknow, Bhubaneswar, Pune and Chandigarh, said Ranjan, adding that the changes aim to streamline operations and meet growing passenger demand....
