Modi calls for ouster of tmc govt, announces six guarantees
Haldia (WB), April 10 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday announced six guarantees for Bengal if the BJP wins the Assembly polls and sought the ouster of the "'nirmam'" (cruel) TMC government, accusing it of "setting new parameters of development debacle and pulling the state back".
Addressing a rally at the port city of Haldia in Purba Medinipur, which is an industrial hotspot of the state, Modi said that the BJP will replace the "atmosphere of fear and distrust in the state as his first guarantee. He also mentioned initiating probes into all corruption cases under the incumbent Mamata Banerjee government in the state and raised crimes against women, mentioning Sandeshkhali and RG Kar cases among his other guarantees.
The West Bengal chief minister on Thursday hit back at the Prime Minister on Thursday for claiming that her government failed to attain self-sufficiency in fish production.
"I heard that today, he (PM) said that there is no fish production in Bengal, while Bihar is producing more and exporting... Here we purchase fish from markets and eat," the TMC supremo said.
