Mob ransacks school hostel after death of 7-year-old boy
PATNA, Nov. 17 -- A large mob ransacked a private school hostel after a minor boy was reportedly found murdered at Gopalpur village under Vaishali police station in Hajipur on Sunday.
Police said a team was rushed to the spot and a 7-year-old boy was found dead in the private hostel of the school. About hundred locals gathered at the spot and vandalised property, broke the hostel grill and damaged vehicles on the road.
The police identified the deceased as Arjun Thakur, son of Ramshankar Thakur of Kalyanpur village in Belsar area.
SDPO, Lalganj, Gopal Mandal said Arjun was found dead with multiple injuries in his private school hostel on Sunday. "He had been studying in the hostel for five months. His body was sent to hospital for autopsy."
The SDPO said police reached the scene after receiving information but a crowd soon gathered and created a ruckus and pelted stones despite efforts to calm the situation.
Police said the situation was brought under control after about an hour. The police are camping to control the situation.
The family said Arjun was lying on the bed when they entered the hostel. "We saw some injuries on Arjun's leg and neck and it seemed he had been beaten to death with a stick. Strict action should be taken against hostel management as it happened due to their negligence," the family said....
